Show Notes

The first two episodes of this ancestral body noise podcast series were a window into the 6-week long ritual performance workshops. This episode archives the manifestation of the embodied memory exploration.

What you hear are the pre-composed ancestral body noise soundscapes, and live sound making that accompanied a ritual that encompassed a plethora of functions: from safe mourning space, manifesting collective protection and healing, commiseration on the state of the people and the planet. Together, the ritual participants connected embodied memory with a collective, Afrotectopian system that honours our ancient sentient technology of our individual and collective ancestry.

The episode ends with an engaging Q&A after the performance, where the community in attendance asked the participants questions about the process.

Ritual participants: Astaan Anais Meyer, Nane Kahle, Kerim Melik Becker, Jessica Korp, Beverley Kotawali, Exoce Kasango, Gugulethu Dumama Duma
